North Star Chinchillas is committed to finding forever homes for our Chinchillas. An application is required to adopt/purchase an animal from us. We want to help make sure you know all the proper care and important basics to owning a chinchilla before you bring one home with you. If you haven’t already, please go and review our “Chinchilla Care” section before applying for adoption.

We do not allow potential adopters into the chinchilla room. This is a safety and health measure we take for us and our animals to ensure they are protected from exposure to injury and diseases. 

All animals are sold as healthy and considered free of any special needs unless otherwise discussed.  All animals are visually inspected before pick up. We provide a 14 day health guarantee in the unlikely event of the death of your chinchilla. I will replace the animal with one of equal value. Ringworm/fungus is not an illness covered by this health guarantee as it can present quickly and is very easily treated at home. Veterinary costs will not be reimbursed under this guarantee.  A care guide will be given to all buyers with key care facts. Use of these items will void the guarantee. North Star Chinchillas reserves the right to inquire about husbandry, food, and care that may have contributed to death. This guarantee does not apply to retired breeders, or rescue chinchillas as I do not know their backgrounds.

A deposit is required to hold an animal. Deposits are not refundable unless the animal dies or becomes ill in my care before the time of pick up, in which case a replacement or refund will be discussed based on animal availability.
